Baby Center's Top Stroller of 2012 - City Mini GT

“Like a Swiss Army knife, the City Mini [GT] is compact and capable of handling anything life throws its way. The City Mini [GT] is compatible with most car seats and has three pairs of 8-inch rugged tires that can handle any terrain. Parents praise its easy maneuverability through city streets and crowded stores, where it slides easily through narrow aisles. And while other popular strollers like the pricey Bugaboo or the Bob Revolution may require Herculean strength and coordination to fold up, the lighter Mini truly folds flat with one hand.

The adjustable handle make this stroller a good fit for moms and dads of any height. Parents also love the supersize canopy with windows that you can cover or uncover as needed.

Moms say: 'I love this stroller so much. It's so easy to fold and put away. It's so easy to maneuver, is comfy, and has plenty of storage.' – Lindsay, a mom of three.”

Best Rated Baby Strollers - September 2012

We are so excited that both the City Mini GT and the City Versa were included in iVillage's Best Rated Baby Strollers of 2012 stroller round-up story!

City Versa:
The brand new City Versa is a compact stroller with a big features list -- a reversible seat, adjustable handlebars, extendable, adjustable footrest and the ability to fold compactly with the seat facing either direction. The 8" molded plastic wheels make the City Versa suitable for malls, pavement and sidewalks, but lack the heft to handle rougher terrain. The only downsides: A hand-operated parking brake may take some getting used to, and the well-padded, reversible seat switches position easily, but only offers two levels of recline. There are no included accessories on the City Versa, but the underseat storage basket is large and accessible regardless of which way the seat is facing. The two-step fold isn't as fast as the Baby Jogger City Mini GT, but is still easy, one-handed and leaves the stroller compact.

City Mini GT
There's a lot to love about the newly updated City Mini GT. The larger, foam-filled tires mean that the stroller works as well on grass as it does on pavement while the adjustable-height handlebar makes it comfortable for both parents. A full-coverage canopy provides ample shade and two peekaboo windows let you keep an eye on your baby. The padded seat has a one-handed, full-recline that includes a vented back panel for airflow along with a retractable weather cover. The narrow seatback compartment and underseat basket provide decent storage, and, while there are no included extras, Baby Jogger offers accessories including a cup holder, rain cover, child tray, belly bar and glider board. Best of all is the effortless maneuvering, pedi-saving handbrake and one-handed, patented compact fold of the City Mini GT.

“Whether you complete your baby registry online or in store (or a combination of both,) the endless options available might prove to be intimidating. But since the average Jane is happy to have her friends and family help fulfill baby product purchases, we’ve broken down the basics for you to ensure you create a registry complete with all your needs and wants.”

The City Select was included in the registry side-bar: “This stylish stroller sells conversion kits separately so you can easily add a seat when you add to your family”

Florida Cycling Magazine - February 2012

[ … ] The base unit is called the POD and is the starting point for customizing the “stroller” for use. I am hesitant to call it as stroller as it seems to belittle what it is capable of doing. The POD is designed to convert to stroller, a jogger or pull behind almost any bicycle. [ … ] Assembly was very easy and my wife did it before I even got home. According to her it took more time getting it out of the box than it did to assemble. As a parent the scariest words in the world on a package are “Some assembly required. [ … ] The interior has several nylon pockets that are perfect for holding goldfish, sippy cups and a die-cast Lightning McQueen. The seat and five point harnesses are well padded and there was not fear of pinching the kids when clipping the buckles closed. One of the features I like about the interior was the recessed mesh behind the kids’ heads. It allows plenty of room to accommodate helmets although my little guy is too short to take advantage of it yet. [ … ] There is a large pocket on the back of the stroller that is big enough to hold plenty of gear. We actually used it to hold the stroller wheels when we were towing the POD behind the bikes. We were able to ride to the beach, quickly detach the trailer bar and install the stroller wheels. [ … ] Folding the stroller in half is very easy. There are large handles on either side that are easy to grab and pull upward. You can hear the click as it releases and folds in half. [ … ] To use the POD as a stroller is as simple as installing the two eight inch wheels on either side of the front of the chassis. Now, I know to anyone who is childless (why are you reading this review?) it may not seem important but being able to steer a stroller one handed is really important. You are either going to be drinking coffee or talking on the phone and many strollers have the alignment of a thirty-year-old shopping cart. The POD tracks straight. The thing I found most impressive is that you could hold the handle anywhere on the bar and it still wanted to go straight. [ … ] There are several accessories available for storing cups and phones that make it easier to manager with one hand. The POD looked very wide when I first saw it and I thought it would be difficult to handle through the mall. It actually turns tighter than any other stroller I have used and when I checked the measurements it is actually narrower than most of the top selling side by side dual strollers. [ … ] I guess I was a little skeptical about the POD at first. I knew with twenty inch wheels, it would ride well behind the bike but I didn’t think it would replace our stroller. Surprisingly it outperformed our double stroller as well."

Strollmates

"We played matchmaker and asked new mamas what their ultimate stroller would look like. a few wistful women pleaded for the unattainable. (A stroller for three with huge tires and lots of storage that folds flat? We’re not miracle workers people!) But Cupid’s arrow was able to strike more than a few targets, as we steered plenty of parents to the ride of their dreams. You’re bound to find your perfect walking partner on these pages too!”

One new mama requested “It must be good on rough terrain but also simple to fold. And reasonably priced!” and was paired up with the City Mini Single, indicating it was the easiest fold the editor had found.

NJ Suburban Parent - June/July 2011

Strolling in Style!

"Recently the NJ Suburban Parent product reviewers went looking for an amazing stroller that would suit an active lifestyle and grow as the family grows. We found the City Select from Baby Jogger and we highly recommend it! Here’s what our reviewer, a busy mom with three small children had to say:”

'I have the Baby Jogger City Select with Second Seat and I love it! I have been using it the past few weeks with my newborn (with the car seat adaptor) and my almost-3-year-old. This is a perfect everyday stroller because it’s narrow, light and folds up nicely. It also has a huge and accessible storage basket and very sturdy frame. It has a smooth ride and is very easy to use.'

The City Select has unparalleled ability to change as the baby grows, and as the family expands! It can be easily adapted for use by newborns (with its Bassinet Kit), can work in combination with many popular car seat brands, and also accommodates one or two regular seats. The seats can be positioned singly or doubly, forward or rear-facing or even one facing each way (so the kids can “talk”). For families with a third child, a Glider Board can be attached so a pre-schooler can hang on for a standing ride. In all, there are 16 different possible seating arrangements for this unique baby stroller!"

HonestBaby Knows Best: Baby Jogger Summit XC

"... And so, on one sunny Saturday morning, my Baby Jogger Summit XC arrived at my front door, ready for action. The moment I took my first running steps with the Summit XC, I immediately felt regret—regret that I hadn’t gotten this stroller sooner!!!! Never in a million years did I think pushing a jogging stroller could be this easy. And for many reasons, the Baby Jogger has far surpassed my expectations.

First off, don’t be tricked by the name, “Baby Jogger”—This stroller is a fantastic multi-purpose stroller than can be used for walks around your neighborhood, in the city, as well as for running and jogging. No matter where I take it, my jogger always feels completely stable. The shocks are amazing because they are on every stroller wheel (as opposed to [similar joggers] that [have] only rear wheel suspension). I’m able to push it over grass, dirt, bumps, sidewalks, and I’m even able to lock the front wheel into a fixed position for an even more steady ride over rough terrain. All of this, while my son rides relaxed and at ease.  ..."

The City Mini was selected as Best Urban Stroller in the 2011 Babble Best Awards

"While any lightweight or umbrella stroller is ideal for an urban setting, bumpy, uneven sidewalks require a stroller that can handle rough terrain, and apartment living calls for a super-compact stroller that you can easily haul up five flights of steps. When we first read reviews of the City Mini, we found the vast majority of users were unhappy that their baby slouched in the unsupportive seat. However, the new 2011 seat fixed the problem with a stronger back. Plus, the stroller is maneuverable, handles even the most broken up of sidewalks and breaks down with one hand — seriously! Plus, it has a fantastic carrying strap for urbanites who regularly travel up and down subway or apartment steps. (We carried it on our shoulder without a problem.)"

Babble.com Best 2010 Double Strollers

The editors at Babble.com thoroughly tested and reviewed the double strollers in the market for 2010. Baby Jogger is honored to receive a "Best Overall" notation for the City Select in this double stroller round up story.

"Double strollers are the kind of products bought out of sheer necessity (don’t they just look overwhelming?), yet we can honestly say that this Baby Jogger City Select had us wishing for two under two, just for an excuse to use it on a daily basis. It combines almost everything that the best strollers have: It’s narrow enough for city streets yet has wheels to handle rough terrain. It’s incredibly easy to set up, break down and store. It maneuvers like butter and, most impressively, there are 16 different seating arrangements for any age combination. The stadium-seating alone is one of our favorite parts of the stroller’s design because it’s more visually stimulating for baby number two, plus it’s not quite as long as the typical tandem stroller. And when we realized we could easily (key word: easily) twist and turn one or both kids any way we wanted, we were sold. If you’re having twins, this is the only luxury stroller we tested that could accommodate two car seats at once, making it perfect for newborns...."

Best City Strollers for Two 2010

"The Baby Jogger City Select, my current daily double, also starts as a single with a reversible seat, but it goes a bit further as a double. It can take 2 car seats, 2 bassinets or 2 full sized seats or many combinations of those options. Each seat holds up to 45 pounds, reclines, has a full sized, generous canopy, that can be raised to offer more headroom for taller riders and its own optional rain cover. It is a bit long and heavy as a double, but you can fold it with at least one seat in place and it is super easy to take any part on or off. Pushing 1 handed, fully loaded isn’t the easiest, but it can be done. There are so many options, especially for twins, that the the extra weight is worth it...

...The Baby Jogger City Mini Double weighs about 27 pounds and has Baby Jogger’s amazing quick fold technology. It won’t fold up as small as an umbrella stroller, but it’s fairly small for such a nice double. It’s easy to store or pop in and out of a car. It feels even lighter than it is because it’s so easy to manage. The canopies are amazing, it’s suitable for a newborn plus you do have the option of using one car seat. It has front wheel suspension and will take you from sidewalk to park. It’s not as cushy as an air-filled tire double, but the push is still great and maneuverability is too. Baby Joggers are great for taller children as is the 100 pound weight limit for the stroller. Baby Jogger has a very wide variety of accessories for its strollers, so you can easily customize your stroller to your needs."

Baby Jogger City Select Stroller Makes Light Work Out of Two Kids

"Baby Jogger has an amazing solution with the incredibly versatile City Select stroller, which has more configurations and options than any stroller I've ever seen.

As a single stroller, the City Select is everything a stroller should be. Lightweight, easy to fold and unfold, great to look at. It's incredibly solid, which makes it a pleasure to push. I used it from a remote parking lot at Golden Gardens, through the gravel and an akward little trail under a bridge, and it handled it like a champ. The recline and sunshade are easy to use and the handbrake is not only simple to operate (not requiring your toes, which in my case are often in sandals), but it puts a hard stop on both back wheels. You can fold it all as one piece, but if you need to cram the stroller in to a very full car you can easily remove the seat and back wheels, making it almost completely flat. I have been able to put it in my SUV in the most crammed of situations...

...As far as versatility, I just can't think of a down side to this stroller. I have a friend with two small children who has a double stroller, a single full-size stroller, and an umbrella stroller. If she's caught with the wrong one for the situation, it makes her life very hard. With the City Select you have everything you need. A double stroller compact enough for even the busiest day at Pike Place, sturdy enough for gravel or sand at any of Seattle's parks or beaches, able to handle the fast pace of Greenlake. The seats have a weight limit of 45lbs, which will take many kids well into their fourth year. Want to brave the crowds at the Bite without the extra length of the second seat? Simply remove it, wear your second baby (or have daddy do it!) and you have a great single stroller in seconds.

Baby Jogger went above and beyond in their design of the City Select. It really does nearly everything you could ask of it - although probably not your dishes or laundry - and it does it with ease, simplicity, and beauty..."

"Baby Jogger’s City Micro Single is made for maneuverability. It’s not just its 360-degree swivel front wheel. Road Test - See Mommy Run

"Traded in your gym membership for a mommy-and-me class? Jogging with baby in tow might be your best get-back-in-shape option. Our review panel rounded up their favorite joggers so you can hit the ground running.

These hard-working strollers are perfect for a jog around the block or a speed walk over less-than-even terrain..

A Parent’s Perspective: The F.I.T. is perfect for my lifestyle. It’s lightweight for a jogger, easy to use and attractive. When I read the description of this stroller I knew it was the perfect one for me. I love jogging the sidewalks around our neighborhood but I’m definitely not a marathon runner. This stroller is designed for just that – jogging to get in shape, not to win an Olympic medal. I love the high quality of all Baby Jogger’s strollers, and this one is no exception. My 2-year old daughter loves riding in the cushy seat and I love the ease of the push. I’m definitely a fan of the F.I.T.!

Bonus: Accessorizing your jogger is a breeze with the universal accessory mounting bracket."

Bike Trailer + Jogger = Baby Jogger Switchback Hybrid!

"Getting outside is a daily requirement for sanity in our house, and one of our favorite summertime activities is to hop on our tandem bike, load the kids in the bike trailer and ride down to the beach. We’ve tried out a handful of trailers over the years, but none has been as impressive as the Baby Jogger Switchback Hybrid.

The Switchback is not only an incredible bike trailer, it also transitions quickly and easily into a jogging stroller. There are other bike trailers on the market that can do this, but most require you to purchase a conversation kit separately ($$!), require tools and time to switch back and forth between modes and don’t offer a way to store the extra pieces for the other mode on the trailer itself. The Baby Jogger Switchback Hybrid does all of this. And more...

...With the competition, you can often have a bike trailer or a jogging stroller. But with the Baby Jogger Switchback, you have both. All the time. No tools required and just minutes to convert from one to the other. Tomorrow morning we’re going to ride our tandem bike with the Switchback down to the farmer’s market, lock up the tandem, quickly convert the Switchback to a stroller and linger at the fruit and veggie stands. Want to join us?"

**The City Elite stroller was included in the Registry Guide

Pregnancy & Newborn.com - June 2009

"Baby Jogger's already well-known City series has a new addition: The City Micro.

Not only is this little bugger adorable, it weighs in at under 17 pounds! It's the first umbrella stroller to make its way into the Baby Jogger fleet, but just because it's petite, doesn't mean it's not powerful!

The ergonomic, lightweight Micro re-defines the traditional compact stroller, yet maintains all the style and safety standards you’d expect from Baby Jogger. It's equipped with standard features usually found outside of its class, including front wheel suspension, 8” rear wheels and a 6” lockable swivel front wheel on sealed ball bearings, an adjustable sun canopy with clear view window, and an adjustable reclining seat.... (As with all of Baby Jogger's "City" strollers, the Micro is made for strolling only, not jogging.)"

Jogging with your child is a great way to get some fresh air and stay fit. Like with most baby gear purchases, finding the right jogger can be challenging. You need to consider size, terrain, wheel size and price. We have put together some information to help you better decide which jogger is right for you...

People/Celebrity Babies.com - March 2009

"The Baby Jogger City Elite stroller isn’t meant for jogging, but it sure handles everything we could throw at it in New York City. I love the sporty, unisex Red Sport color that’s upbeat but not too flashy. It reminded me of a British racecar with the wide, white stripe down the middle.

The City Elite came out of the box in five pieces and was assembled in under five minutes. I just snapped on the three wheels and the sun shade and we were ready for a walk. We assemble a lot of strollers and really love it when the company does the work for us. We always read the instructions for these reviews, but could have figured it out if they weren’t handy…"

Mommies with Style - March 2009

"We asked friends, family and several stroller experts to tell us the best all around double stroller for an active family on the go. We wanted lightweight, versatile, easy to push and most important - easy to fold in a hurry! ....

… The winner? Baby Jogger's City Mini Double did all we asked and more. I only wish I'd found this stroller a litter earlier on. When it comes to a double stroller for us now, it really is the City Mini Double... or nothing! The Baby Jogger City Mini is an absolute pleasure to push. Even loaded with my brawny 4 year old and 1 year old toddler, the stroller spins nimbly and does not feel heavy to steer. This was probably the first thing I noticed about the City Mini, when compared with other doubles that can be cumbersome or weighty. The stroller itself is very lightweight, with locking, quick release stroller wheels. The wheels are not air filled - they are a much lighter weight EVA tire, but this is not as issue for the push/ride as the stroller has an excellent suspension system and the wheels have sealed bearings that keep the ride super smooth, even on bumpy pavement…"

"Baby Jogger City Mini Double Stroller: A Lightweight Double Stroller That Makes 360 Degree Turns! The Baby Jogger City Mini Double is a rare jewel in the world of double strollers. This lightweight double stroller clocks in at amazing 26 pounds, and makes 360° turns. The push is effortless. It also has a terrific full-coverage sunshade and a decent sized storage basket. But what really caught my eye was the super quick and compact fold. Salma Hayek and Jennifer Garner both have the City Mini Single and Julia Roberts has the City Mini Double..."

Pregnancy & Newborn.com – February 2009

"The Summit 360 is the newest stroller to be released by Baby Jogger. So why is this particular pusher so nifty? Because it just happens to be a great solution for parents who are looking for a stroller that can do it all.

The Summit performs well in both urban landscapes and in the great outdoors! Sounds too good to be true, right? We thought so, too, but then we saw the pneumatic rear wheels, lightweight aluminum frame and lockable front wheel --- and we were convinced this is the perfect baby cruiser to haul to the trail and the mall."

Ten Great Tips for New Moms - HIT THE ROAD

"Incorporate your baby into your workout by walking briskly or jogging with them daily. A fixed-wheel stroller like Baby Jogger's Performance Series ($430) is our pick for running on any terrain (Gwen Stefani and Matthew McConaughey are fans) …. For safety reasons, wait till your baby is at least six months old, has head support, and is able to sit up before jogging with them."
